Terhal by Dragone

As HOD Video on Terhal, I was tasked with uniting the creative and technical sides of video design into one coherent system. The show celebrates the cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia, and the visuals needed to embody that duality ‐ rooted in tradition yet modern in execution, fluid enough to move with choreography and strong enough to hold their place in a large‐scale production.

The project was developed by the creative minds at Dragone and led in partnership with my client A Loud Minority, alongside collaborators at Drop The Spoon and MediaPro. Together, we built a carefully balanced visual world that elevated the story without overwhelming it, allowing the cultural narrative to remain at the heart of the performance.

A key aspect of my role was bridging the work of Drop The Spoon, who shaped the creative content, with MediaPro, who provided the technical infrastructure. These disciplines often move at different rhythms ‐ artistic iteration on one side, logistical precision on the other. My responsibility was to align both, ensuring technical feasibility supported the creative vision rather than limiting it. Through clear workflows, feedback loops, and joint reviews, we created a space where artistry and engineering could thrive together.

On the technical side, we implemented a robust Disguise media server system capable of running high‐resolution content across multiple projection surfaces with full redundancy. Projection mapping was calibrated with precision to match the scale of the stage architecture, and timecode integration ensured video, lighting, and sound worked in perfect sync. This infrastructure gave the production the reliability it needed to perform consistently at scale while staying reactive to the live dynamics of performance.

Ultimately, success came from orchestrating collaboration. With A Loud Minority steering the creative direction, Drop The Spoon defining the visual language, and MediaPro engineering the backbone with Disguise, my role was to weave these efforts into a unified whole. The result was a video environment that felt seamlessly integrated ‐ a modern, technically sophisticated canvas that celebrated Saudi heritage while enhancing the live spectacle.
